The Provençale style cottage set within an acre of gardens has its own swimming pool. The main entrance to the cottage opens up into a large dining area with adjacent open kitchen (modern, fully equipped with washing machine, dishwasher, etc.). A large comfortable lounge opens up from the dining area. French windows lead to a large covered terrace, ideal for outside dining, and the swimming pool is a few metres from the terrace. Adjacent to the pool is a shower room with WC and handbasin. Satellite TV and stereo CD are provided. Garden table, chairs, sun-loungers and barbeque are provided. There are three bedrooms, each with a double bed. There is a fully fitted bathroom with shower, bath and handbasin and a separate WC. Furnishings throughout are to a high standard of comfort and all household linen is provided, except for swimming towels. There are lovely views to the south and west. The setting is very private, yet not isolated with the village centre only a few minutes' walk away. Surrounded by vineyards and wooded hills, about 50 kilometres northwest of St. Tropez, the little village of St. Antonin-du-Var lies in one of the most beautiful and peaceful areas of the Var region (Provence). The nearest town, which dates back to the crusaders, is Lorgues (about 7 kilometres) where there are banks, cafes, restaurants and supermarkets. The village has a good tennis court, childrens' play area for football and basketball, boules pitch, and several golf courses are within easy reach. Sailing, canoeing and windsurfing can be enjoyed on the Lac St. Croix (about 30 miles). The village has a grocery shop, bread shop, wine cooperative where wine can be bought very cheaply, restaurant, bar and hotel. Local Activities: This is an excellent place for walking with panoramic views in abundance. Local markets can be experienced each day of the week in different towns and there are plenty of delightful villages to explore. Lorgues, one of the oldest and most typical Provençale villages – 10 000 inhabitants – has a rich historic and cultural heritage and goes back to the Middle Ages. Visit the 12h century fortified walls and the medieval atmosphere comes alive. Lorgues offers a variety of artistic and sports activities as well as the local market, AOC wines and honey, which all offer a taste of regional tradition. Local Food and Wine: A restaurant is right on the “doorstep” in St. Antonin and several good, inexpensive restaurants can of course be found in Lorgues, just 10 minutes' drive away. All Year Round Holiday Place: With the locals boasting “300 days of sun a year” this location is a special place to come any time of the year.
